This time last year I wrote a blog called Skorts and All (I have to credit my other half for the catchy title!). I’d found myself incredibly frustrated by the industry that I love. I’d also realised that by allowing myself to become accustomed to the status quo, I was part of the problem. In a bid to shake things up (and keep my own sanity!) I set myself some goals. Thankfully, as I reflect on the last 12 months I am astonished by the places that this ambition has taken us to and the projects we are now involved in.

In the last 8 months alone, we have attended the launch of the R&A’s Women in Golf Charter at the Shard; launched a campaign for The PGA; been invited to The Houses of Parliament; been media accredited for a Major event; sat in the CEO’s office at The PGA and I was even invited to give a lecture to the future of golf at Myerscough University.

There are particular projects that I am incredibly proud of. Of course, the We Love Golf campaign we created for The PGA has been a highlight, but my passion project – to create a global network of women working in golf – is only a few clicks away from being a reality. There are two women and two men who have pushed me and pushed me to make this happen and I am incredibly grateful for their encouragement.

I am relishing the opportunity to share our knowledge and work in collaboration with some incredible people and organisations, but I do feel a genuine responsibility to the industry to get things right. For such a long time the industry has felt disjointed, but I believe that times are changing and that by pulling together we become more powerful and can really make a difference.

There are a lot of people still content to make a lot of self-serving noise, but I am hopeful that there are more people out there who are inspired to rise above it all and make their mark. 2019 holds challenges and adventure that I am already looking forward to and I hope to meet you somewhere along the way!
